乳化液中主要含有機油和表面活性劑，是用乳化油根據(jù)需要用水稀釋再加入乳化劑配制而成的。由于乳化劑都是表面活性劑，當(dāng)它加入水中，使油與水的界面自由能大大降低，達到低值，這時油便分散在水中。同時表面活性劑還產(chǎn)生電離，使油珠液帶有電荷，而且還吸附了一層水分子固定著不動，形成水化離子膜，而水中的反離子又吸附再其外表周圍，分為不動的吸附層和可動的擴散層，形成雙電層。這樣使油珠外面包圍著一層有彈性的、堅固的、帶有同性電荷的水化離子膜，阻止了油珠液滴互相碰撞時可能的結(jié)合，使油珠能夠得以長期地穩(wěn)定在水中，成為白色的乳化液。配制的乳化液PH值一般在8-9之間，有的甚至高達10-11。

乳化液廢水經(jīng)收集，進入隔油池，目的在于分離去除水中的浮油；隔油池出水進入調(diào)節(jié)池，主要調(diào)節(jié)水質(zhì)、水量。調(diào)節(jié)池經(jīng)泵提升進入破乳池，攪拌并加入破乳劑反應(yīng)，將乳化態(tài)的油類脫穩(wěn),出水至氣浮池，通過加藥與溶氣使懸浮物上浮，以除去水中懸浮物。

氣浮池出水進入?yún)捬醴磻?yīng)池。厭氧反應(yīng)池是利用厭氧菌的作用，去除廢水中的難降解有機物。厭氧池出水進入缺氧池，達到去除有機物及總氮的目的。缺氧池出水進入接觸氧化池，接觸氧化工藝采用固定式生物填料作為微生物的載體，曝氣系統(tǒng)為反應(yīng)器中的微生物供氧�？朔藨腋』钚晕勰嘁子诹魇У娜秉c，能保持很高的生物量。

接觸氧化池出水進入AC反應(yīng)池。AC反應(yīng)池是利用活性炭（AC）將水中有機物吸附在活性炭表面，再通過絮凝沉淀達到進一步去除有機物的效果。AC沉淀池出水進入排水池。排水池主要是調(diào)節(jié)pH，以保證達到出水達標(biāo)要求。

破乳池、氣浮池、接觸氧化池、沉淀池產(chǎn)生的剩余污泥，進入污泥濃縮池；污泥由污泥泵提升進入污泥脫水機房進行濃縮脫水，脫水后的泥餅定期外運處理。
